Highlights from the IPCC (2021) Report and the new TAU Climate Change Initiative

In August 2021 the United Nations published its 6th report on the Science of Climate Change (IPCC, 2021), showing that today we are more certain than ever that global warming/heating is real, that we are the problem, and that the climate is changing more rapidly that previously thought.  Whether temperature rise, changings in rainfall patterns, or rising sea levels, change is happening faster than expected, and we have a very small window to act to prevent dangerous irreversible climate change.  In the light of the report, TAU has recently established a new Climate Action Center/Initiative to look for broad multidisciplinary solutions to Climate Change in our region and around the globe.  Over the past months we have mapped out the activities at TAU, and we have decided to focus on 4 key areas as related to solutions.  These insights will be presented in the lecture.
