Corporate Responsibility

A Cultural and Governance 5,000 Years' Perspective

Yuval Davidor, PhD, DIC, BSc

ההרצאה תועבר באנגלית

It is widely accepted that Corporate Responsibility (CR or CSR) is a welcomed and needed gospel to correct modern corporate conduct regarding its sustainability, social and business scruples. It is also widely considered that this is a progressiveness step for humanity with respect to recent decades of corporate governance.

Reviewing the history of leadership and governance from ancient times opens a powerful understanding about CR with a surprising supposition. Not only CR is not a ‘new’ quality in civilizations, its restoration could be quite simple and all embracing as opposed to the complexity of the regulated CR reporting practices. Furthermore, if accepted, it suggests a different perspective how communities and corporates should train their leaders to take decisions.

The talk covers the evolution of governance, social and legal, since the days of the Pharos (with a surprising link to geology and etymology).
