.Behavioral biases cause societies to set insufficient emission reduction goals, and miss these limited targets - despite the scientific knowledge and declared ambitions

This research suggests a potential workaround for these biases- by identifying the insurance sector as one that stands to suffer significant losses, but may also gain from becoming a significant player in climate change mitigation  efforts

.Applying current insurance data to a theoretical model allows connecting climate science, economics and finance and reveal the potential role of the insurance sector in supporting the transition to a green economy
