People’s behavior is influenced by the urban landscape. However, the underlying mechanism that links urban dynamics and behavior of individuals remains obscure. The current research offers a conceptual model of human behavior in urban settings, incorporating established theoretical foundation in psychology and urbanism. It also offers empirical evidence to support the model. Increasing our understanding of these processes is not just theoretically interesting but also bears important practical consequences. Results and implications are discussed.
